A Blistery October Night

Cameron is the true love of my life. We have known each other for many years, however, we never dated until the fall of 1999. We bumped into each other on a blistery October night. A friendship began, and love blossomed. We had talked often about what our lives would be like if we were to get married. My face lit up with excitement each time and my voice trembled at the very thought. Then one day it happened! Cameron lives in Florida and I reside in New Jersey. On one of my many jaunts to visit him, he completely caught me off guard by bowing on one knee and asking me to marry him -- while I was putting on makeup in the bathroom of his apartment! We were preparing to go to dinner. I suspected that it would happen that weekend, but not in that way! Regardless it was perfect. He had to ask me twice because I stood there with my mouth open. After the realization set in, we went to a wonderful restaurant at the beach, listened to a jazz band play tunes and we were given a bottle of champagne by the manager, who watched us bask in the moment. I am truly the luckiest woman in the world because everyday we continue to have the same look in our eyes that we had on that blistery October night in 1999.
