Sine & Louis
November 25, 2000
ABOUT THE BRIDE: Sine was born in the UK and her family moved around a good bit before settling
in Australia. While trying to decide on her professional career, she met Louis and became a mother to their
three children. Beth (4), and identical twins Abigail and Hannah (2). She is currently a full time Mum,
President of preschool PTA, and studying to attain her Diploma of Business.
ABOUT THE GROOM: Louis was also born in England before moving to Australia. He graduated from the
University of New England and now works as an Education Sales manager. He enjoys watching the Brisbane
Broncos (Australian Rugby League), boxing matches on cable, and building computers.
HOW WE MET: In the Australian spring of 1995, Sine and Louis were on a surfing weekend with friends.
They "knew of" each other, but had never really met. They had the best weekend of their lives and the rest is history.
ENGAGEMENT: In early 1999 on a family vacation to the Australian Coast. They were in the same
resort they had stayed in when they first started dating, the song "Goin' to the chapel" started playing
on the radio. Louis gave her a glass of their favorite champagne and a letter. He asked her to read it,
and as she finished the letter he produced a ring! He got down on one knee and he said, "Sine, will you marry me".
Sine said yes straight away!
PLANNING: They originally were to have a long engagement but then decided upon a "millennium wedding".
The date was set, but the plans for their special day evolved many times over their engagement. After numerous
wedding shows, magazines, and countless conversations, everything was planned -- they would have a traditional
church wedding.

ATTIRE: Sine's dress was the first dress she liked in the first bridal magazine she ever read. She saw
it at a bridal show and that was it -- she had found her gown. The dress was a strapless white Italian gown with
Cornelli embroidery. It had an attached chapel length train. Sine chose a 3-tier white cathedral length veil with
white ribbon braiding. She wore a silver tiara with diamante petals and pearls, as well as matching earrings. Her
sister Becky was her Maid of Honor and wore a dress the same as Sine's only in a very pale pink, and without the
fullness or train. Louis wore a black, three quarter length dinner suit. It featured a black satin cravat, a
pocket hanky, and a silver vest to coincide with the theme of romantic silver/pink/white. The Groomsmen wore
similar suits. Their three daughters were their flower girls and wore white dresses made of satin and organza.
Sine carried 40 budding pink roses that were tied with a silver ribbon. Her Maid of Honor carried a mixture
of 20 white and pink roses while her eldest daughter carried a posy of pink and white spray roses. Their twin
daughters had tiny white baskets with silver ribbons filled with white and pink spray roses. Louis had a white
rose with one tiny bud beside it and the groomsmen wore a single white rose.
THE CEREMONY: Sine and Louis were married at 4:30pm in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Brisbane.
Sine and her father arrived by horse and carriage. Photos were taken after the ceremony at beautiful Brisbane
Botanical gardens.
THE RECEPTION: The reception started at 6:30pm at the very stylish restaurant called "Rosatis on the Park",
and ended in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The wedding cake was white with 3 tiers and featured an abundance of
sugar pink roses as well as a traditional bride and groom. After waltzing to "I knew I loved you before I met you"
by Savage Garden they danced the night away! Their night finally ended at a suite in the Brisbane Hilton. They
awoke the next day and flew to Bali for a weeklong honeymoon!
HOW WE PERSONALIZED THE WEDDING: The millennium color of silver played a prominent role in their theme.
Sine's favorite color is pink so they decided upon silver and white hearts with pink roses. This theme was carried
through from the silver and white invitations, handmade by the couple, to the hearts sprinkled on the tables and cake.
Louis' Nan made the table centerpieces and tiny silver high-heeled slippers for favors.
THINGS WE LOVED:
Sine -- I wouldn't know where to begin, I loved the whole day! It was the most romantic day of my life,
and it was more perfect than I imagined it could be. It truly was like a fairytale and I felt every bit the princess.
Louis -- My favorite part of the wedding was seeing Sine walk down the aisle. I don't think she ever
looked more beautiful! After the ceremony, it was awesome to ride off in our horse and carriage as husband and wife.
